ISO 26262 Functional Safety Training

We propose a full scale of trainings concerning the application of ISO 26262, from a first orientation to hands-on workshops for specific roles. Every training combines the explanation of the requirements with practical examples and exercises, so that participants can apply them immediately in their daily work. Two forms are possible: standard trainings and tailored trainings.

Standard trainings

The most typical topics are:
  • ISO 26262 fundamentals: the safety lifecycle, key terminology, ASIL, roles and responsibilities, and how the twelve parts of the standard fit together. Suitable for engineers, project managers and quality teams starting with functional safety.
  • Hazard analysis and risk assessment (HARA): from item definition to ASIL determination, safety goals and functional safety requirements, practised on a worked example.
  • Safety concepts and safety analyses: technical safety concept, ASIL decomposition, FMEA, FTA and dependent failure analysis, including how to document results for assessors.
  • Hardware development: safety mechanisms, diagnostic coverage, FMEDA and the hardware architectural metrics.
  • Software development: software architectural design, unit verification and freedom from interference, with attention to typical pitfalls in audits.
  • Semiconductors: ISO 26262 Part 11 and safety elements out of context (SEooC).
  • Safety management and safety case: safety plan, confirmation measures, audits and assessments, and safety case compilation.

Tailored trainings

Content, depth and duration are adapted to your organisation, your products, your existing processes and the experience of your participants. Typical options are:
  • workshops using examples from your own projects,
  • role-specific sessions for developers, testers, safety managers or management,
  • coaching of your team during a running project.
Trainings can be held at your site or remotely, and can be combined with our consulting support so that the theory is applied directly to your project. Contact us to discuss your needs and receive a proposal.
